In Goma, thousands of families displaced by war and natural disasters settle down in precarious slums and shacks, located on disaster prone areas. INUKA negotiated with local authorities in Goma and on obtained 30 stands to build houses for very poor families with vulnerable children. 30 families were selected from among those included in INUKA´s regular social programmes. The houses were built using the same technology of former projects. INUKA made efforts to reduce costs in order to reach the poorest families.
