EALE - HAD 2018
HAD, a partner of EALE, has implemented this new housing’s project (similar to the AF-12/17 project) for the bene t of grandparents and their small children in the neighbourhood of Keshero of Goma’s city.
Each of the 45 houses, painted in blue, has been built on an area of 5 m in length and 3 m in width (15 sqm’s in total) on a volcanic soil. Made of wood, each shelter has bene tted from a cement screed, a door with padlock, an interior partition (two rooms), two beds, a brazier, a harvest rainwater, a roof and cornices in sheet metal. For every two houses, a latrine (hole with sheet metal enclosure) has been built.
Orphans or abandoned grandchildren over the age of 15, dependent on their grandmothers who were direct bene ciaries of the Project, contributed to the various stages of construction, removal of mate- rials from transport trucks, construction of the walls in planks, making of the foundation, etc.
