This project, the rst one of this religious congregation that held a meeting with SELAVIP in October 2018, took place in the Akaraterete village in the Isiolo county (North East of Kenya) where there are still people living in manyatta houses. The orga- nization has undertaken and implemented the construction of 30 houses (one room only) for the selected members in the village. The project aimed to solve (1) the pro- blem of lack of housing especially during rainy season when the community used to su er a lot and also (2) the security’s problem (the children and women were not safe in their previous shelters due to the fear of wild animals at night). The houses have been made with local materials like stones, trees, irons sheets, cement. The families participated by fetching water for the masons, arranging stones and by cooperating with the masons in all the required jobs.
