The works that have been implemented in parallel to the 6 steps of access to the DUAT (right to use and take advantage of the land) are:
STEPS 1 AND 2 - SOCIAL AND GEOREFERENTIAL SURVEY:
The signing of the collaboration agreement for the 2021 survey between IPCTA and WSUP.
Training for the social and georeferential survey in the neighborhood of Chamanculo C.
05/20 to 07/09 2021: Social and georeferential survey of neighborhood families.
STEP 3: STREET OPENING WORKS
Negotiations began for the placement of the GATES at the entrances to various plots due to the urgent request by the families. Families speak of an increase in crime due to the lack of work at this time of COVID-19. To formalize the action, each family signed a PORTAO SHEET in which they agree to support the meal, as well as take care of and maintain the gate. Each gate has a padlock. - Between February and April 2021, the ARCHITECTURAL SURVEY OF EACH PLOT was carried out in the presence of the families. Design and elaboration of the detailed executive project, it was reviewed with the municipal technical team, in addition to the negotiations with the company that provides the materials.
STEP 4: PLOT AND PREPARATION OF THE PORMENOR PPRAC PLAN (REGULATORY PLAN)
Official Meeting of the “Commission for the Preparation of the PPRAC” (Plan of the Minor of the Residential Areas of Chamanculo C - REGULATORY PLAN)
OTHER AWARENESS ACTIVITIES
Follow-up and support has been given to the activities of the Comite de Acompanhamento do Bairro Chamanculo C, which represents and helps families during the works and improvement of public spaces. Some of the issues that has faced the NGO are:
- State of Calamity renewed by the Republic of Mozambique since January. On a monthly basis, the President has addressed the nation to present preventive measures (eg curfew).
- The team has had to work outside working hours to be able to adapt to the availability of some families.
- Maputo has suffered a dramatic rise in construction prices caused by the closure of the borders and the USD change.
