UrbanThe proposed project sought to construct 35 dwellings with basic amenities to the slum dwellers’ families (who belonged to the Arunthathiyar and Kuravas Community) living in Sholavandan Town (Madurai District). These families are poorest and margi- nalized, they work in unorganized works and agriculture sector that pay low wages and the works are not regular. To do away all the families related issues and challen- ges (caste, life in outskirts’ neighbourhoods) this project has been planned to put up houses made with sand, blue metal of di erent sizes, steel rods, corrugated sheets, hallow blocks made of cement, sand. Each house now has a surface of 18,4 m2 and does include a toilet.
