General purpose of project:
The specific purpose of the project was to build 37 houseless to tribal Dalit families in Solipi urban slum, to save them from frequent fire accidents in which they lose all their belongings and save them from floods and rain water during rainy season. The project, that started in February, is located in the Andhra Pradesh state. The majority of the families were involved in clearing the house sites, digging of foundations, filling of foundations with hard soil and laying cement mixture on it. The surface of each dwelling is approximately 25 square meters. The materials used for the construction are (between others : stones, bricks, iron, cement, sand etc.). The local authorities have extended their full co- operation in getting permissions and land regulations.
